Activator

I've been composting for about 4 weeks. I have a mix of grass clippings, kitchen waste (while the wormery is getting going) and newspaper. I also add some stuff I got from Wiggly Wrigglers that helps to break down the grass clippings.
I am turning every 3 to 5 days. I want to get a hot compost so that I get compost at the end of the Summer. The temperatures don't seem to be getting up though. The heap does have fungi, flies and spiders. I'm watering it as well to keep it moist.
Should I wait until the bin is full before I start turning the heap? I was wondering if I need to add an activator to get things going?
All advice gratefully recieved!

So, I tried the activator. I bought Westlands Make your Own Compost. Can't believe how effective it is! The bin was practically full. Within three days the heap was steaming. I turned it on day 4 and now have about a sixth of the contents of my bin! Finally, I have progress. :D
Westland do recommend that you add it when your compost bin is full and you will be leaving it to finish composting without adding any additional waste. The box said it should take 8 weeks 2 get finished compost. So, I am going to start a new compost bin and add to that for 10 weeks and then leave that and empty bin no. 1 and start it again.

Yep, the activator is very good. We sell something similar (Compost Accelerator) here - http://www.originalorganics.co.uk/compo ... sories.htm and it is very popular.

Bokashi Bran is also good for adding to compost bins.
