Hi.
I Think you can use fly spray without hurting worms.
Or you can buy a worm friendly spray to stay on the safe side.

Hi there,
Sorry for the slow reply. We had some technical problems with the forum and it's only just come back now!
Anyway, any ordinary flyspray will do the job - though most prefer to use an organic spray available from a local garden centre or somewhere like Homebase. What you need to do is spray twice a day for 10 days. This will break the life cycle of the fly breeding. While you're doing this don't add any further waste to the bin. Sraying WILL NOT harm the worms.
It's important to note that none of our Wormeries will actually attract flies just in normal operation. The most common reason for a fly infestation is where food has been lying around or kept in a caddy prior to being added to the Wormery or if you have added garden waste to the Wormery. If a fly lays an egg on the food while it is in the kitchen waiting to be added, for eg, and then is added to the Wormery, the Wormery just happens to provide a nice breeding environment for them.
Hope this helps.
